Bohol, Philippines

How amazing it is that I’m living in a picturesque country. The Philippines!

A lot of people say napaka-overrated ng place pero seeing it in person was a childhood dream.

I reached Bohol alone on December 2015(ka-batch ‘to ng Leyte, Philippines trip ko na inabot ng isang taon bago maka-gather ng thoughts) I traveled without an itinerary and I didn’t research about the province.

If you’re coming from Manila, there are a lot of flights going to Bohol offered by Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines and Air Asia. Your entry point will be the city of Tagbilaran but there’s another airport in Bohol, the Ubay Airport pero hindi ako sure kung nag-o-operate na sila at kung anong flights. Karamihan ng planes will land in Tagbilaran.

If you’re coming from Cebu, pwede ka mag-fast ferry lang. Madaming entry points pero kadalasan ang Tagbilaran and Tubigon. Kung sa Chocolate Hills ang punta mo, easiest way for you ang Tubigon. Maraming byahe papuntang Bohol, ilan dun ang Supercat, Ocean Jet, Weesam Express, Kinswell, Starcraft. ‘Nung time na pumunta ako ng Bohol, Ocean Jet yung nasakyan ko going to Tagbilaran and as of today (February 6, 2017) 800 Php per way sa Open Air/Tourist Class meron din na Business Class na 1000 Php per way.

The moment I touched the soil of Bohol, napansin ko sila na tumutugtog sa Port while people are coming in and out. They make people smile with their music.

(Which I didn’t know beforehand) Kinausap ko ‘yung tricycle driver and haggled with the price going to Carmen. (Chocolate Hills’ viewing deck) 1000Php with return to Panglao Island.

Along the way, mano-notice mo yung green environment ng Bohol.

Nung papasok palang, I felt like nasa ibang mundo ako. That’s how the locals told the story.

At last, nakarating na sa Carmen, I took the 200+ steps to the viewing deck  with my 12 kg backpack. (ugh! someone’s giving up)

F’nally! There are 1000+ chocolate hills behind my back. Majestic.

Kinabukasan, I woke up late. I paid 100 Php.

Hopefully, makabalik ako and when that time comes, I will rewrite my Bohol experience.
